Privacy Policy

Kotonoha studio kotonoha (hereinafter referred to as “the Studio”) establishes the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”) regarding the handling of users’ personal information in the services (hereinafter referred to as “the Services”) provided on this website.


Article 1 (Personal Information)

“Personal information” refers to information defined as such under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan, and includes information relating to a living individual that can identify a specific person based on details such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact details, and other descriptions, as well as data related to facial features, fingerprints, voiceprints, and insurer numbers on health insurance cards that can identify a specific individual by themselves (personally identifiable information).


Article 2 (Method of Collecting Personal Information)

The Studio may ask for personal information such as name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver’s license number when users register to use the Services.
In addition, the Studio may collect transaction records and payment information, including users’ personal information, from affiliated partners (including information providers, advertisers, and ad distributors; hereinafter referred to as “Partners”).


Article 3 (Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information)

The purposes for which the Studio collects and uses personal information are as follows:

  • To provide and operate the Services
  • To respond to inquiries from users (including verifying identity)
  • To send emails regarding new features, updates, campaigns, and other information about the Services or other services provided by the Studio
  • To contact users as necessary for maintenance and important notices
  • To identify users who violate the terms of use or who attempt to use the Services for fraudulent or improper purposes, and to refuse their use
  • To allow users to view, modify, or delete their registered information and usage status
  • To charge users for paid services
  • For purposes incidental to the above uses

Article 4 (Changes to the Purpose of Use)

The Studio may change the purposes of use of personal information, only when the changed purpose is reasonably related to the original purpose.
In such cases, the Studio will notify users or publicly announce the changed purpose on this website by a method prescribed by the Studio.


Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

The Studio will not provide personal information to third parties without prior consent from the user, except where permitted by laws and regulations. However, the following cases are excluded:

  • When it is necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property, and obtaining consent is difficult
  • When it is especially necessary to improve public health or promote the sound growth of children, and obtaining consent is difficult

Note: The following cases do not constitute provision to third parties:

  • When personal information is shared jointly with a specific party, and the scope, purpose of use, and responsible party are notified or publicly announced in advance

Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

When a user requests disclosure of their personal information, the Studio will promptly respond. However, all or part of the information may not be disclosed in the following cases:

  • If disclosure may harm the user or a third party’s life, body, property, or other rights and interests
  • If disclosure significantly impedes the proper operation of the Studio’s business
  • If disclosure would violate other laws or regulations

A handling fee of ¥1,000 will be charged per request for disclosure.


Article 7 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)

Users may request correction, addition, or deletion of their personal information if they believe it is inaccurate, in accordance with procedures established by the Studio.
The Studio will respond without delay if the request is deemed necessary and will notify the user of the outcome.


Article 8 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information)

Users may request the suspension or deletion of the use of their personal information if it has been used beyond the scope of the stated purpose or obtained by unlawful means.
The Studio will conduct necessary investigations and, if the request is deemed valid, will respond promptly.
If it is difficult to comply, the Studio will take alternative measures.


Article 9 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

Except as otherwise required by law, the contents of this Policy may be changed without prior notice to the user.
The revised Privacy Policy shall take effect upon being published on this website.
